A full-time Painter Foreman is required to lead and oversee a painting team on commercial and residential projects. This role involves hands-on painting work while supervising and coordinating day-to-day site operations, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead a team of painters, delegating tasks and ensuring all work is completed to quality standards and deadlines.

Carry out all aspects of surface preparation and application, including brushing, rolling, and spraying.

Conduct on-site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and safety compliance.

Liaise with site supervisors, clients, and contractors to coordinate workflow and resolve issues.

Ensure proper use and care of tools, materials, and safety equipment.

Train and guide team members, including junior staff or apprentices.
Minimum Requirements:

At least 5 years of proven and documented painting experience, including experience supervising or leading teams.

Proven ability to manage a team and deliver work across multiple sites or jobs.

Must have excellent English language skills, both verbal and written, to communicate clearly with staff, clients, and contractors. Fluency is essential for leadership responsibilities.

Must meet Immigration New Zealand’s English language requirements for the Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV) – evidence of English proficiency must be submitted at the time of application.

Must also meet INZ’s character and medical requirements, including a clean police record and the ability to pass a medical examination.
Preferred but Not Essential:

A relevant trade qualification in painting or decorating.

Previous experience in commercial or multi-unit residential projects.
