A full-time Painter Foreman is required to lead and oversee a painting team on commercial and residential projects. This role involves hands-on painting work while supervising and coordinating day-to-day site operations, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of painters, delegating tasks and ensuring all work is completed to quality standards and deadlines.
  • Carry out all aspects of surface preparation and application, including brushing, rolling, and spraying.
  • Conduct on-site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and safety compliance.
  • Liaise with site supervisors, clients, and contractors to coordinate workflow and resolve issues.
  • Ensure proper use and care of tools, materials, and safety equipment.
  • Train and guide team members, including junior staff or apprentices.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of proven and documented painting experience, including experience supervising or leading teams.
  • Proven ability to manage a team and deliver work across multiple sites or jobs.
  • Must have excellent English language skills, both verbal and written, to communicate clearly with staff, clients, and contractors. Fluency is essential for leadership responsibilities.
  • Must meet Immigration New Zealand’s English language requirements for the Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV)evidence of English proficiency must be submitted at the time of application.
  • Must also meet INZ’s character and medical requirements, including a clean police record and the ability to pass a medical examination.

Preferred but Not Essential:

  • A relevant trade qualification in painting or decorating.
  • Previous experience in commercial or multi-unit residential projects.
