Experienced Slaughterers are required for full-time positions in processing facilities across New Zealand. These roles involve slaughtering, dressing, and preparing carcasses for further processing, following strict hygiene, safety, and animal welfare standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform humane slaughtering of livestock in line with New Zealand regulatory standards and company procedures.
  • Use knives, saws, and other tools to dress, trim, and prepare carcasses for processing.
  • Follow strict food safety and hygiene protocols throughout all stages of processing.
  • Operate safely in a factory or processing environment, including working in chilled or cold areas.
  • Work collaboratively with other processing staff to meet production targets and quality standards.
  • Complete daily cleaning and sanitation tasks to maintain a safe and hygienic workplace.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of proven and documented work experience in slaughtering or meat processing roles.
  • Strong knowledge of meat processing techniques, food safety, and hygiene standards.
  • Physically fit and capable of performing physically demanding tasks in a processing environment.
  • Must meet Immigration New Zealand’s English language requirements for the
  • Must meet INZ’s character and health requirements, including a clean police record and the ability to pass a medical examination.
  • Verifiable documentation of previous employment (e.g. reference letters, employment history) is required.

Additional Attributes:

  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet production deadlines.
  • Willingness to work rostered shifts, including early mornings, weekends, and overtime when required.
  • Knowledge of animal welfare and humane handling procedures is preferred.
  • A formal meat processing qualification is an advantage but not essential.
