Tradesperson Welder / Fabricator
Location: Wellington
(ANZSCO Skill Level 3)
Experienced Welder/Fabricators are required for full-time roles in a manufacturing and engineering environment. These positions involve fabrication and welding work on industrial equipment and associated plant components, with a focus on quality workmanship, safety, and compliance with Australian/New Zealand standards.
Key Responsibilities

Carry out welding and fabrication work as required.

Interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications to determine job requirements.

Fabricate components using appropriate tools, machinery, and equipment.

Work on light fabrication, heavy fabrication, boilermaking, fitting, and welding tasks.

Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and weld metal components accurately.

Follow workplace health and safety procedures at all times.

Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organised condition.

Work effectively as part of a manufacturing or engineering team.
Minimum Requirements

At least 5 years of proven and documented experience in welding, fabrication, boilermaking, or fitting/welding.

Relevant trade qualification in light fabrication, heavy fabrication, boilermaking, or fitting/welding.

Strong fabrication and welding skills.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

Good working knowledge of machines, tools, and equipment used in fabrication work.

Physically fit and able to stand for long periods, bend, lift, and carry materials as required.

Must meet Immigration New Zealand’s English language requirements for the Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV), with acceptable evidence provided at the time of application.

Must meet Immigration New Zealand’s health and character requirements for the AEWV.

All work experience must be supported by verifiable documentation such as reference letters, employment records, or contracts.
