Currently seeking experienced Excavator Operators to join a growing team in Queenstown, New Zealand.

These opportunities suit operators with strong earthmoving and machinery experience who are looking to work on civil, infrastructure, construction, and site development projects in one of New Zealand’s most recognised regions.

About the Role

Successful applicants will operate excavators and associated machinery across a range of projects while maintaining high standards of safety, efficiency, and workmanship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate excavators safely and efficiently across construction, earthworks, civil, and site development projects.
  • Carry out excavation, trenching, grading, loading, and site preparation activities.
  • Perform pre-start inspections and basic daily maintenance checks on machinery.
  • Read and follow site plans, instructions, and project requirements.
  • Work alongside site supervisors and ground crews to ensure safe and efficient project delivery.
  • Maintain accurate records of machine operation and report maintenance requirements.
  • Follow all workplace health and safety procedures and site compliance requirements.
  • Assist with other site-related activities where required.

Minimum Requirements

✔ Minimum 2 years of proven and documented experience operating excavators and earthmoving machinery.
✔ Demonstrated experience working on civil, construction, infrastructure, or earthworks projects.
✔ Strong understanding of safe excavation practices and machinery operation.
✔ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
✔ Relevant machine operating licences, endorsements, or certifications are preferred.
✔ Current driver’s licence (Class 2 or higher advantageous).
✔ Physically fit and capable of working outdoors in varying conditions.

  • Meet Immigration New Zealand’s English language requirements for the Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV) and provide acceptable evidence of English proficiency at the time of application.
  • Meet Immigration New Zealand’s health requirements, including medical examinations if requested.
  • Meet Immigration New Zealand’s character requirements, including police certificates where required.
  • Provide verifiable work experience documentation, including employment records and reference letters.
