Heavy Diesel Mechanics (x2) – Full-Time
Location: Southland, New Zealand
(ANZSCO Skill Level 3)
Two experienced and fully qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanics are being recruited for full-time positions based in Southland. These roles involve a mix of workshop repairs and field servicing, with responsibility for maintaining and repairing a wide range of heavy vehicles and machinery.
Key Responsibilities:

Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy diesel vehicles, machinery, and associated equipment.

Perform preventative maintenance, overhauls, and complete rebuilds.

Respond to on-site breakdowns using a company service vehicle.

Carry out welding and fabrication repairs where required.

Undertake both mechanical and auto-electrical diagnostics and repairs.

Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams to ensure smooth and efficient service delivery.

Manage workload effectively and perform well under time pressures.
Minimum Requirements:

Trade-qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanics with at least 5 years of proven and documented work experience.

Full driver’s licence with HT endorsement (additional endorsements are advantageous).

Strong mechanical, engineering, fabrication, and welding skills.

Ability to diagnose and repair both mechanical and electrical faults.

Physically fit, dependable, and adaptable; able to work independently or within a team.

Strong communication skills and a professional standard of presentation.

Must meet Immigration New Zealand’s English language requirements for the Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV). Acceptable English language evidence must be provided at the time of application.
Additional Requirements:

All work experience must be supported by verifiable documentation (e.g. reference letters, employment history).

Must be a New Zealand resident or eligible to apply under the AEWV scheme.
