We are seeking experienced Meat Boners to join a large meat processing operation in Nelson.

These positions are employed as Slaughterers under the Global Workforce Seasonal Visa. Applicants with strong boning room experience are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Bone and trim meat products to specification.
  • Prepare primal and standard cuts.
  • Maintain product quality standards.
  • Operate knives, band saws and meat processing equipment safely.
  • Support production teams across meat processing operations.
  • Follow workplace hygiene and food safety requirements.

Preferred Skills

Applicants with experience in the following will be highly regarded:

  • Boning
  • Deboning
  • Trimming
  • Knife handling
  • Knife sharpening
  • Carcass cutting
  • Band saw operation
  • Secondary processing
  • Meat plant experience
  • Fast-paced production environments

Experience with sheep, beef, pork, goat or poultry processing is desirable.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of proven and documented meat boning or commercial meat processing experience.
  • Excellent knife handling skills.
  • Physically fit and capable of repetitive production work.
  • Reliable and able to work in chilled environments.
