An experienced Off-Highway Diesel Mechanic is required to join a Rotorua-based team working in Kaingaroa. This role is based in a workshop environment servicing an off-highway fleet operating within a large forestry estate.
This is a unique opportunity for a skilled heavy diesel mechanic to work on large, purpose-built machinery and equipment used in demanding forestry and off-highway environments. Transport will be provided from Rotorua or surrounding areas.
Key Responsibilities

Service, diagnose, repair, and maintain off-highway diesel equipment and heavy machinery.

Carry out mechanical repairs on large forestry and purpose-built transport equipment.

Complete preventative maintenance, inspections, and fault finding.

Work safely and efficiently on large-scale machinery in a workshop environment.

Meet repair deadlines while maintaining high workmanship standards.

Follow all workplace health and safety procedures.

Communicate clearly with supervisors and team members.

Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organised condition.
Minimum Requirements

At least 3 years of proven and documented experience in heavy diesel mechanics, preferably with off-highway equipment, forestry machinery, or large transport equipment.

Relevant trade qualification in heavy diesel, automotive, or mechanical engineering.

Ability to work to deadlines under pressure.

Excellent communication skills.

Physically fit and healthy, with the ability to work on large gear and heavy equipment.

Drug-free and able to pass pre-employment drug testing.

Strong, uncompromising approach to health and safety.

Trustworthy, reliable, and takes pride in quality workmanship.
