(ANZSCO Skill Level 3)
A qualified and experienced Security Technician is sought for the installation, maintenance, and servicing of electronic security systems, including access control, intruder detection, and CCTV systems. This role requires a high level of technical skill, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to health and safety.
Key Responsibilities:

Install, service, commission, and maintain access control, intruder detection, and CCTV systems.

Complete commissioning and testing of installations to meet quality standards.

Accurately and promptly complete all job-related documentation including job sheets, timesheets, and system updates.

Work both independently and as part of a wider team across various internal departments.

Contribute to coaching apprentices and junior technicians to support team capability.

Use digital job management tools to receive, update, and complete jobs efficiently, including uploading notes and photos on-site.

Attend project meetings and communicate challenges to ensure timely task delivery.

Promote a safe and professional work environment through personal conduct and adherence to safety procedures.

Participate in the on-call roster when required (with allowances for on-call duties).
Minimum Requirements:

At least 5 years of documented work experience in electronic security system installation and maintenance, including network cabling.

Proven experience in the commissioning and servicing of electronic systems.

Ability to meet Immigration New Zealand’s English language requirements for the Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV) — evidence of English proficiency must be provided at the time of application.

Recognised trade certifications related to security systems.
