An experienced Welder / Fabricator is required to join a busy engineering and manufacturing workshop based in Rakaia.
This role involves the fabrication and welding of agricultural, industrial, and commercial equipment using a variety of materials and fabrication techniques. The successful applicant will work as part of an experienced manufacturing team producing high-quality engineered products to meet customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities

Fabricate and weld steel components using MIG, TIG, and Arc welding processes.

Read and interpret engineering drawings, fabrication plans, and technical specifications.

Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and weld components to precise tolerances.

Fabricate agricultural, industrial, and structural steel equipment.

Operate fabrication equipment including guillotines, presses, drills, saws, grinders, and other workshop machinery.

Carry out quality inspections to ensure finished products meet required specifications.

Assist with fitting and assembly of fabricated components where required.

Maintain a clean and safe workshop environment while following all health and safety procedures.

Work effectively as part of a manufacturing team to meet production schedules.
Minimum Requirements

At least 5 years of proven and documented experience as a Welder/Fabricator.

Relevant engineering trade qualification preferred.

Strong experience in MIG welding with TIG welding experience considered advantageous.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and fabrication specifications.

Experience working with mild steel, stainless steel, and structural steel fabrication.

High attention to detail and commitment to producing quality workmanship.

Current driver's licence preferred.

Must meet Immigration New Zealand's English language requirements for the Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV), with acceptable evidence of English proficiency provided at the time of application.

Must meet Immigration New Zealand's health and character requirements for the AEWV.
