Experienced Builders

Experienced Builders are required for full-time construction opportunities in Queenstown, New Zealand.

Applicants must have practical experience in residential and commercial construction, including timber framing, renovations, building installations and general carpentry duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out residential and commercial building work.
• Construct and install timber framing, floors, walls and roofing structures.
• Complete renovations, alterations and general carpentry work.
• Measure, cut, assemble and install building materials.
• Read and interpret construction plans and drawings.
• Operate construction hand tools and power tools.
• Ensure work meets quality and safety requirements.
• Maintain clean, tidy and safe construction sites.

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of proven and verifiable building or carpentry experience.
• Strong practical experience in residential or commercial construction.
• Competent in timber framing, building installations and general carpentry.
• Ability to read construction plans and work independently.
• Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors.
• Valid driver's licence.
• Minimum English language ability equivalent to IELTS overall band score 5.0.
• Must be willing and able to pass an English language assessment or test.
• Able to understand workplace instructions and communicate effectively in English.
• Reliable, hardworking and safety-conscious.

Preferred Experience

• Residential and commercial construction.
• Timber framing and structural carpentry.
• Renovations and alterations.
• Roofing, cladding and interior finishing.
• Relevant building or carpentry trade qualifications.
• Experience working to construction plans and specifications.

Work Experience Evidence

Applicants must provide verifiable evidence confirming at least 2 years of relevant building or carpentry experience.

Acceptable evidence may include employment reference letters, employment contracts, payslips, tax or social security records, and relevant qualifications.

Employment references should describe the applicant's actual building duties and employment dates.

Immigration Requirements

Applicants requiring visa support must:

• Meet applicable Immigration New Zealand Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV) requirements.
• Meet any applicable INZ English language requirements.
• Meet INZ health and character requirements.
• Provide satisfactory evidence of their employment history and experience.
• Obtain the appropriate New Zealand work visa before commencing employment.
